S4 gearbox hesitation at low speeds, anyone had a good experience with a transmission shop in Dubai?

Post by jimmyjanny »

Been noticing something weird with my B9 S4 over the last few weeks where it's not exactly slipping but when I'm just easing through the Marina traffic around 20 to 30 kph it feels like it can't quite decide which gear it wants to be in and there's this faint shudder that wasn't there before, I've had the car for almost two years and it's been absolutely flawless up until this point so naturally I'm starting to spiral a bit thinking about what a full transmission swap costs if this thing decides to let go entirely, I talked to a buddy who had a similar issue on his S5 and the dealer basically quoted him a whole new mechatronic unit without even really digging into it which feels like such a nuclear option for what could just be a fluid service and adaptation reset or maybe a worn mount, I'm trying to find a shop that genuinely knows Audi transmission repair and maintenance service inside and out rather than just throwing parts at the problem and hoping the check engine light stays off long enough for me to get home, has anyone around here found a place that does proper diagnostic work on these ZF 8HP boxes without jumping straight to replacement and did they actually fix the issue for the long haul or just patch it up for a few months?
